Brandy hall

Happily welcoming new clients!

You are not alone. When life is hard, people may want to hide away or be alone to escape tough feelings, interpersonal conflict, or rejection. Sometimes, we want to fight against it, but we end up hurting the very people we care about. Then, we might feel confused about what is happening and hopeless about life getting better. When these problems do not go away with time, a genuine therapeutic connection may help you heal, grow, and find new ways to solve old problems.

Identity and Specialization

Brandy firmly believes her clients should be able to authentically connect with their therapist, especially through shared or affirmed aspects of cultural identity and lived experience.  During therapy sessions with Brandy, clients will be heard, understood, and most importantly, feel seen and valued. As a biracial (Black and White) therapist, mother, and military spouse, Brandy brings a deep understanding of navigating multiple cultural identities, which informs her clinical work and helps clients feel seen and affirmed in their own lived experiences. Brandy knows how important it is to have a space of your own and have that space be held by someone you trust. She offers cultural humility and uses proven therapy models to engage in counseling for relationship issues and family conflict. During therapy sessions, Brandy specializes in working with individuals to process trauma, alleviate the effects of anxiety and depression, and explore the complexities of identity development. When working with couples and families, Brandy may work through some of the same subjects, but she also helps to improve bonds between family members and romantic partners. She works with couples and families, helping them improve communication, navigate life’s difficult moments, and grow together. Brandy specializes in providing therapy to biracial, multiracial, and Black individuals, as well as interracial couples and families, offering a space where the layers of belonging, and racial, cultural, and personal identity can be explored with respect, compassion and clarity.

Brandy’s Therapy Approach

During initial therapy sessions, Brandy works with clients to focus on calming symptoms or reducing conflict, helping them discover the ways they’ve have been hurt, recognize patterns that keep people stuck, and uncover strengths that carried them through hurt and suffering. Next, she shifts the focus to restructuring a client’s inner monologue and harmful belief structures by distilling core issues (fears and unmet needs). Finally, Brandy leads her clients to integrate the healing changes into their daily lives.

Healing and growth are Brandy’s passions as a therapist. She guides individuals to experiencing emotional balance, mental openness, and deeply engaged relationships, utilizing numerous research-supported therapy approaches, including:

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Families, Couples, and Individuals – working together to develop healthy and secure attachment bonds.

  • Attachment-Based Therapy – understanding how experiences early in our childhoods continue to impact the way we connect with others.

  • Experiential Therapy – utilizing art, music, role play, and other experiences to process difficult emotions.

  • Trauma-Focused Therapy – developing strategies to understand and heal from traumatic experiences as well as learning safe and healthy coping strategies.

  • Strength-Based Therapy – focusing on an individual’s strengths and developing these to empower people to achieve goals rather than focusing on “fixing” or “improving” qualities that aren’t as helpful.
